The Des Moines Henry County Labor Alliance AFL-CIO is very committed to fostering bipartisan collaboration with candidates running for local office. They have a committee Working Iowa Neighbors (WIN), who work together and conduct committee meetings to discuss and decide on an interview schedule with candidates running for any local office (county, city, school board) in the following counties in Iowa: Des Moines and Henry. These committee members help determine if those running for office would be in the best interest of organized labor and best represent and fight for working families. Candidates are sent a questionnaire to be filled out and returned prior to the deadline date given. They are then scheduled for an interview with the WIN committee. Candidates who do not fill out a questionnaire cannot be considered for endorsement.
